WORKSHOPS

We host monthly workshops throughout the year at the plant shop GrowinShade on Main St. in Islip.

Here are some of the workshops we offer:

Pressed Flower Book Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn about several methods of preserving flowers, examples for crafts that you can create with your dried flowers, and you’ll construct and decorate your own flower press to take home with you. All materials will be provided, including dried flowers, glue, rubber stamps, wood, fasteners, board and blotter paper. Refreshments and drinks will be served.

Pressed Flower Ornament Workshop

Learn about the process of drying flowers and make your very own pressed flower ornament. All participants will also take home their own flower press book. All materials will be provided, including dried flowers, glue, wood, paint, twine and ribbon. Refreshments and drinks will be served.

Flower Arranging Workshop

In this workshop, you’ll learn about the rules of design composition that make up a great bouquet. You’ll learn about techniques on how to place them in the vase, and leave with your own custom arrangement and beautiful vessel for future arranging. Seasonal flowers and materials will be provided for you. Refreshments and drinks will be served.
